When my dad died last month, I almost immediately started stitching on a memorial piece for him. It was very healing to sit and stitch and I thought of him with each stitch I made.
I decided that once I get photos done, I will release this piece and will donate all proceeds to the Boy Scouts. He was a leader and very involved in scouting for many years. I picked this up from the framer yesterday and am very pleased with how it turned out though my photo is not the best. So stay tuned, I'll write more once it's ready for release.
P.S. click on the photo for a better view.

Oh what a lovely memorial to your beloved Father. I'm sure your Father would be filled with love and pride to know you used your love of stitching and talent for design to stitch such a beautiful piece.
It's so beautiful. And you are a a very special person and daughter.
Your sampler is beautiful... and I do understand what great therapy it was. I lost both of my parents within days of one another a little over a year and a half ago, and the activities we choose during those first weeks and months can make such a difference in how we feel.
I've ordered your design from Lois... and plan to adapt it to my parents with some "we's" in place of "I's." Knowing they're together is one of my comforts and I also know they'll love what I'm doing.
I recently saw your design completed, but am unable to find it for sale. Do you have any advice for where it may be found? csogle@yahoo.com
I would love to do this for my mother, she was a cross-stitch person and now that she is about ready to go home if like her to see some of her legacy is being carried on with this price of work
